This Week from God's Word

Sunday, January 29, 2012:
This week Pastor Zack's sermon will be
"God is not safe, but He is good"
from 1 Chronicles 13:7-10; Exodus 19:12-13
In the book The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe one of the characters describes Aslan the lion as not safe, but good. We tend to think of God at times as this kind hearted, good natured cosmic Grand Pa. With a long white beard who wants to bounce us on his knee and tell us stories of days gone by, but in reality we serve a dangerous God. God is not safe, but he is good! God wants nothing but the best for his people, but at the same time there will be moments where what God requires of us is scary. Certainly the times we choose to disobey him, we will see the less safe side of God.
